Plot:Set in 1987 in Los Angeles, Sherrie is a small town girl who wants to face her dreams in the city. She meets a boy and it becomes love at first sight. This film contains many well known songs from 'Don't Stop Believing' to 'I Love Rock n Roll'. A group of religious protesters try to shut down a rock n roll club and they show their anger through music to each other. It shows the lives of a group of people making it in the world of music.

Comments:This movie contains many famous actors that will surprise you in many ways. The songs and the acting make this movie special and one of the best musicals this year. The songs contribute to the movie and make you want to sing along to great rock n roll songs. This is a new type of movie that creates a new standard for musicals.

Plot: In 19th century France, Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman) is released from prison but breaks parole to create a new life for himself. For decades he has been hunted by a policeman, Javert (Russell Crowe). In his new life Jean Valjean agrees to take care of a factory workers' daughter, Cosette (Amanda Seyfried). This decisions changes their lives forever. Years later, set in post-revolutionary France Jean Valjean and Cosette live their lives together. But soon comes crashing down when Javert meets Jean Valjean after so many years.

Comment: This movie of Les Miserable is perfect. All the actors fitted perfectly with Russell Crowe with the weakest of voices but still is an outstanding film. All performances done in the movie were done live on the day of shooting which allowed actors to play with the song. It is truly an amazing film which you should go to even if you haven't seen the Broadway show. My only warning is that don't drink too much because it is around 3 hours with adds.

Run Time: 113 minutes

Director: Craig Brewer

Actors: Julianne Hough, Kenny Wormald, Dennis Quaid, Andie MacDowell, Miles Teller

Plot:Ren (Kenny Wormald) moves from the city to a small town, where life is very different from his life. An accident, where 5 teenager were killed after a night out changed the small town's community by banning loud music and dancing. Ren stands up to the ban, during it all he falls in love with the reverend's daughter. His rebellious attitude starts to bring up old memories and changes which changes the community.

Comments:This movie is a remake of 'Footloose 1984'. Many remakes of movies don't go down to well with the public but I think this movie is better than the original. It brings a lot of energy to the plate. This movie has plenty of amazing dance scenes and great music that Juilianne Hough and Kenny Wormald brought. Their chemistry is brought across on camera, especially on the dance floor.

Plot:Bella is not a normal teacher. She is not involved in the same things as other teacher. When she  falls in love with a new student( Edward) at her school, things start to change. Only when she examines him & his family more closely does she realise that they are different to everybody else. They are VAMPIRES! Only problem is he hasn’t aged since the 1900’s so that makes him older that 100- oh and he is immortal of course. But nothing will stop Bella from pursing Edward.

Comments: A teenage drama based on vampires. A refreshingly new aspect to the movie world. In my opinion, after reading the bestselling novel to which this movie is based I didn’t feel as if the actors  portrayed the true personality of the characters in the novel. However other aspects such as the setting and plot stayed true to form. Overall this was a very successful teenager based movie which raised large sales in the box office.

Director: Richard LaGravenese

Actors: Alden Ehrenreich, Alice Englert, Jeremy Irons, Emmy Rossum, Thomas Mann, Emma Thompson

Plot: Ethan (Alden Ehrenreich) dreams to escape his small town. A new mysterious girl, Lena (Alice Englert) appears and strange things begin to happen. Lena only has a few days until her birthday and waits for what destiny will be chosen for her. Together, they uncover family secrets and history of the town.

Comment: This movie is based on the book ' Beautiful Creatures' by Kami Garola and Margaret Stoh. In this movie there are a lot of things wrong and left out from the book. If you are a fan of the book you may not be a fan of the movie. I suggest to read the book before you see the movie. If you have never read the book you might like the movie. I didn't think much of the movie but it is still a good watch for a Friday evening movie.

Plot:Summer doesn’t believe in true love or that anyone can fall in love with her.  Meet Tom- a man who fell totally head over heels in love with Summer. .  With help from his friends McKenzie & Paul, he falls in love with Summer- and can’t imagine his life without her. This movie is a step back in time- examining each aspect of their relationship- all 500 days of it

Comments:A stereotypical romantic comedy, lacking in substance. I will admit that this movie had it’s fair share of laughs however unfortunetly it only momentarily distracted us from the poor plot line. A good attempt – and a quirky storyline however for me, something didn’t work – which made the movie off- balance. But if you are looking for a movie to lift your spirits or give you a chuckle then this movie is for you!

Director: Sanaa Hamri

Actors: America Ferrera, Blake Lively & many more

Plot:We are reunited with the girls of the travelling pants, who are older and not as close as they used to be. Carmen is working backstage on a production in Yale. Lena is on a drawing course. Bridget is on an archaeological trip in Egypt & Tibby is editing her documentary. The girls aren’t going to spend their summer’s together instead they are each on other sides of the world, however when a series of events unfold the group are back together and realise how much they really mean to eachother.

Comments:It is always hard to for a sequel to be as successful as the original film- unfortunetly this film has fallen a bit short, however it should still be praised for its attempt- the actors were good- the idea was good however the story line was not there to cement the production together, I found it was trying to be something it was not, instead of embracing that the characters had grown up. Overall it was a good attempt- however unfortunately not as good as the original but nevertheless a good movie to watch during summer!

Tall Bridget & Big Boned Carmen can fit into the same pair of jeans, They must be magic. That summer as each of the girls travels their different ways they pass on the jeans to each other letting them know what luck the jeans have brought them.

Comments: A heart- warming story of friendship. A refreshing storyline which highlights the true importance of friendship without being too ‘cheesy’.  I love how the majority of the actresses have become famous in their own way after the release of the movie.  A perfect summer movie- between the beautiful scenery of Greece to the lush green trees of the American countryside. A must watch movie for summer!

Comment: 'Skyfall' is part of the Bond movies but you don't need to see the other movies to see this one. I thought the beginning was quite weak but it got into the James Bond style. Daniel Craig is very good in this Bond movie. It is a great action movie, which of course has a car chase and things blowing up and a it of 007 romance.

Actors: Naomi Watts, Ewan McGregor, Tom Holland

Plot: A family goes on holidays to Thailand  After settling into their villa, they go to the pool to relax. It's perfect until they hear a distant roar. In seconds the tsunami hits and there is no time to run. Maria (Naomi Watts) and her eldest son are swept away and Henry (Ewan McGregor) and the youngest another way. Who will survive?

Comment: This film is based on the 2004 tsunami which happen during the Christmas holidays. 'The Impossible' captures the emotions and brings the true event to screen. The special effects were done very well but it didn't live up to my expectations, somehow. The actors did great and the relationships came across on screen.  Naomi Watts was nominated for an Oscar in this movie (2013).
